happy birthday a/c!

From Newsday: "Air conditioning is 100 years old this year - give or take a couple of years. Willis Haviland Carrier is widely credited with the invention of the air conditioner. He filed for his first patent for an 'apparatus for treating air' in 1902, but was not awarded the patent, No. 808897, until Jan. 2, 1906, according to the Web site of the Carrier Corp., the company that bears his name. In April 1906, North Carolina engineer Stuart Cramer filed a patent claim using the phrase 'air conditioning,' giving the new industry its name."

this is one day i'd like to bow and give mr. carrier a nice big "we're not worthy!!!!!"
